This is our home in France. (It is NOT a gite designed for holiday letting with the cheapest and most cost -effective furnishings and facilities). It is part of a copropriete where all the apartments are designed for the comfort of the individual owners. Some are permanently occupied but the majority are second homes.You will not find here, the noise and bustle of a 'holiday village'; rather the quiet and relaxing atmosphere which you would expect to encounter, and which, indeed, is indiginous to this fabulous area of Southern France. Not that the exciting lifestyle of the Cote D'azur is far away, but more about that later..... The apartment is totally self contained, with entry from it's own private patio.Although it is intended as luxury accommodation for two, it is fully fitted out for up to 3 people (in addition to the main bed, a self inflating,single air bed is provided along with all the necessary linen, towels, pots and pans etc. required). The accommodation consists of a large lounge / dining room with a beamed ceiling, luxuriously equipped with a comfortable settee, two easy chairs and matching coffee and dining table with chairs. The floors are tiled in the usual Provence style and a couple of radiators provide the heating for Winter visits. Other equipment includes a barbeque, an iron and ironing board
Fitted unit furniture with plenty of storage space completes the furnishing.A television and video recorder have been installed, along with a Free2View satellite receiver. All BBC, ITV, 4 and 5, plus over 50 other channels are available plus all the radio stations found in the UK, so you will not have to miss Coronation St. or Test Match Special. There is a good range of pre-recorded films on video tape and plenty of books and board games. While on the subject of games, you will find a set of 'Boules', four Tennis racquets and a couple of Table Tennis bats. A CD / cassette / radio player is also fitted.
BEDROOM
The bedroom, with it's beamed ceiling and tiled floor, has a King-Size bed, a wardrobe and a tall unit containing drawers and open storage shelves. Individual bed-side cabinets and reading lights complete the furnishings.
The
spacious bathroom is well equipped with a shower, toilet and washbasin.
The amazing ceiling is of vaulted brick construction, and this
room was apparently where the grapes were crushed in the old farmhouse.
It is fitted with a heater and extractor fan.
The superb, new kitchen contains all the necessities to cater for up to 4 people.The appliances include a refrigerator, freezer, oven, ceramic hob, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, filter jug, extractor, etc.
Throughout the season, the terrace becomes the main living area. There is a large table and four chairs, with the usual parasol. Four more folding chairs are also available plus 2 pool loungers with cushions. As it faces the sun, it is ideal for breakfast. Lunch too, but at the height of the Summer the table can be moved to the lawn in the cool shade of the Chestnuts. Back for dinner or under the Mulberry for the barbecue.
